Escape is a photograph that was taken at the Como Zoo in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The orange goldfish and the dark water contrast and the skylight from the cloudy day create a fascinating reflection. I titled this Escape because the reflection reminds me of chains or prison bars. The black water represents being stuck and the fish is trying to escape.

“Fresh” is a photojournalistic documentation of a market in Chinatown, in San Francisco. Photojournalism has always been my dream ever since I started photography. Throughout the years, I have drifted away from photojournalism but as I spent a month in California, It taught me to go back to my roots. The title, Fresh, represents not only the fruit, but the feeling of being alive. Feeling alive are two words that represent my summer. This photograph is documentation of feeling alive.

This photograph is a journalistic piece capturing an artist exploring Minneapolis. I chose to incorporate my legs and shoes while taking this photograph because it really captures my view when I'm doing something I truly love, photography.
