  • Collapsed Humanity (Digital Inkjet Print)

    Collapsed Humanity (Digital Inkjet Print)

This triptych was created to show the world what it feels like to be locked up in society’s gender-specific standards. I wanted to evoke the realism of how dangerous these constraints can be. I created this because I know how emotionally and mentally exhausting it is to be forced into the stereotypical female binary.
  • WHO AM I ANYMORE? (Mixed media, Cyanotype and Fabric)

WHO AM I ANYMORE? (Mixed media, Cyanotype and Fabric)

This piece “WHO AM I ANYMORE?” represents the human body, just being another body on earth, rather than a real person who has a soul, and identity. I tried to convey the idea that your body is just the vehicle for your soul. I started by using Digital images, for the outer four images (The black and white ones.) I created digital negatives then printed and developed in the darkroom. The middle image was shot on 35mm film, was scanned in and edited in photoshop. Then printed as a Cyanotype on white fabric. I chose to block out the identity of the subject because It creates a more dehumanization aspect, that ties into the overall message about just being this walking body, rather than a human who has a soul.
  • Motion and Moving on

    Motion and Moving on

Motion and Moving on Digital Photography, 35mm scanned in and mixed with design. There’s an intense sensation in my brain. At this point in my life, everything is moving at incredible speed, and it feels like I can't keep up. This is my final Exhibition as a Media Senior here at Perpich. I will be graduating in June and starting my life. It feels like the only way I can slow everything down is by creating art. This project is about me creating art about the speed of life while attempting to slow it down.
  • I just want it to stop

I just want it to stop

I Just Want it to Stop. Polaroid Manipulation This project explores the relationship between photography and poetry. The poem is about someone I love, attempted suicide. Poetry has been a use of inspiration for many of my works. I explore this piece of poetry with a lens based eye. I manipulate the photos, with the use of burning and scratching to evoke the emotions I felt during this time of my life.

    Broken Glass (Digital Inkjet Print)

This Tryptic is part of a is a six piece photographic series based on the poem “Broken Glass” written by Chloee Thompson. The poem brings you through a story of a young girl looking to be “fixed” from her brokenness and depression. The photographs brings you through a story of someone lost in the woods, searching for anything to bring them back to sanity.

    Presence 35mm Color Kodak Film

This piece series is called “Presence” because even though you can't see your soul, it's truly the only thing present. On the other hand, my subject's body is physically present in each of these photos but, the body is just the vehicle for their soul. I have been exploring the theme of identity for a while now, and the use of a mask takes out the direct identity of my subject and gives the viewer the opportunity to place a familiar face to the subject and reflect on why they did that.

  • Who am I? Book Page (Digital Inkjet Print)

Who am I? Book Page (Digital Inkjet Print)

This image is a page from a book I created, this book “Who am I?” is a photographic journey of the things I hold dearest to my heart. Each page has an object that represents me. I chose to black out the eyes of my model due to the fact this is a story about who I am, not the model. Every time you see blacked out eyes, you see a word that represents the object. The folder side of this book holds a few of the objects that you see in the photos. Also, I explain what each object represents. The entire book is a metaphor for who I am. Each page is filled with a photo of something that represents who I am. If I didn't have one of those, I wouldn't be who I am today. If I didn't have all the parts to create this book it wouldn't be what it is today either.
